Baseline & Directions for Our Youth would like to like to wish everyone a Happy New Year! We hope this basketball season has brought much success to the teams and student-athletes of New York City!
We would also like to inform you that we will be resuming our "First the Basics" Skill Development Program this upcoming weekend. "First the Basics" serves to instruct and train female basketball players, ages 9 to 17, in the fundamentals of the game. In order to spring forward as a player in any sport, a strong foundation of the basics is needed. Student-athletes participating in our "First the Basics" program will have the opportunity to learn from and work with certified strength trainers, high school and AAU coaches and former college basketball players. The program is absolutely free; take advantage of it! And if you can't, spread the word to people who may be interested. If you want more information about the program or would like to register, contact Tomas Baez (tomas.baez@baselinenyc.org; 646-620-7986), Yamisi Fanga (yamisi.fanga@baselinenyc.org) or Dennis Carter (dcarter@dfoy.org; 917-583-2733). ________________________________ What: "First the Basics" Basketball Skill Development Program When: Every Saturdays (Starting February 13th), 12-3pm Where: Harry S.
