Samantha Prahalis names top 5

It had been reported in Newsday that she has named her top 5 schools. Those include Ohio State, Rutgers, UConn, Purdue and Michigan State. Has anyone checked in on her lately for an update?

Samantha is a firercracker; I sure hope she ends up at UCONN. She is the type of player that doesn't like to lose and would be a major asset to the lucky team she signs with.

I am suprised she has uconn, their backcourt will be crowded not to mention the fact that she doesn't seem like she'd be a great fit in the 1-4. She is more of an open court crossover the defender type pg. Geno likes the under control get the team into their set kind of pg, Bird/Doty types.

So how would you describe Lorin Dixon? Isn't she more the open court point guard also?

Sam and Lorin have VERY similar styles of play, UCONN will be a bit crowded at the pg spot though.

absolutely I'd say dixon is more of an uptempo pg.

I am not knocking either of them I am just giving my opinion. A good example is how dixon played during the all star games. Since they're always up and down games they played to her strength.

Tiffany Hayes will end up playing the 3 at UConn, similar to Kalana Green. When necessary Maya will slide over to the 4 although she more suited for the 3.

Besides a center, UConn also needs to sign a power forward that can rebound.

I see Samantha quite often when I'm out on the Island. My good money says that she will not go to Uconn knowing Dixon is there. They both play the same position. Wherever Samantha goes, you can best be assured it will be to a team that's in need of a point guard where she can step in right of way to get minutes and possibly start.

Danielle Wilson did not go to Uconn because she did not want to go where Tina Charles was going. That's the truth. She did not want to play with Tina Charles. Danielle wanted to make her mark elsewhere. She was pretty straight forward when she said that they both play the same position and there would not be room for the both of them.

Purdue's point guard situation is pretty thin at the moment. Sophmore to be Fahkara Malone is the starter but after her we will only have incoming recruit Michelle Clark as a back up. So if she's as good as people say she is she could come to Purdue and play alot of minutes.

Clarke is more of a shooter I think. Glenn saw her more than I did but I see her busting up zones more than bringing the ball up.

I have a feeling that Rushdan may very well be the PG for Rutgers by sometime next year. After all, she was the starting PG for the USA U18 team last year, and excelled as their court leader. You can't get much better credentials than that.

No doubt but Rutgers likes do it all guards and they always have 3 kids on the floor at all times that can get to the bucket so she would fit the bill.
