This has been rewarding to say the least for many kids that were unknown in the Houston area on the NATIONAL circuit. Sure, everyone knew about Kelsey Bone http://hoopgurlz.com/story/giant-awakening, Nneka and Chiney Ogwumike and Brianna Gilbreath. Those of you who follow youtube ranted and raved about Britney Griner and got a chance to see her up close and personal when she joined DFW Elite http://hoopgurlz.com/story/future-finally-here. But several unknown stars were born, including the super talented backcourt of We All We Got and the high energy kids from the Houston Cobras who have made it to the final 4 in four seperate tournaments in July, winning one, losing one in the finals to DFW Elite and going against Houston Elite today in yet another championship. Cy Fair Shock became the first Houston team to reach the final four at EOT and our team, the Insiders had a great showing at BOB beating three Nike teams and one Adidas in route to to a finals loss against the Alabama Roadrunnerds, a Nike team who I was told loaded up their squad for the finals against us with kids from their other teams which had been knocked out, which shows some think it's more about winning than exposure and when I say exposure, we had some kids who really blew up like Nay Carter http://hoopgurlz.com/story/lone-stars Diamond Ford and Krystal Motley, who hit a 55 footer at the buzzer to send us to the finals in the open division at BOB. This has been a very rewarding summer for many of our Houston kids and after seeing the competition out there year after year, believe me, we are right there.
