This group of 5th graders have played up all season to improve their skills while outscoring opponents enroute to Reno AAU National Tournament, 410-166
We have played everyone our age and beat them," said Romeo, who lives in Martinez. "By playing up, we are hoping to challenge the girls."
All of the girls on the team seem up for the challenge. Every girl on the team has made a full commitment to the Cougars, who practice two and three times a week for two hours.
On top of the actual practice time, girls on the team are traveling back and forth to practices, which are held in Lafayette and Walnut Creek. The Cougars have also played tournaments in Vallejo, Santa Clara, Sacramento and Reno. Reports the ContraCostaTimes.Com
