The schedule is out, seems likePool A is the toughest pool, I think whoever sweeps this field may be a preseason top 25, actually the winner of the thing should be anyway. This should be nice.

99.9% of the other teams are true high school teams. It's a high school basketball tournament; not an AAU event. To my knowledge of course. Please correct me if i'm wrong. In the event that I am correct my reasoning is so that we can see how Eleanor Roosevelt HIGH SCHOOL matches up with other high schools.

to be AAU teams or all-star teams. I have heard of a few schools coming through minus a player, but you're not supposed to add on, or worse bring an AAU team.
Our HS team lost to ER/TE last year in a game that I believe didn't count on the books, but I would just like to see their HS team compete this year.

ER and Team Excel is the same all year long. Unfair advantage but thats how it is when head girls bball coach is head of the "A" team of team excel.

But, TE is not ER straight up. They have kids that are from other High Schools, that probably have no intentions of attending ER. That's why it isn't ok. BOM is a HS team tourney.

Maybe (hopefully) this year they will be but definitely wasn't the case last year.

Its really funny that you all are discussing the integrity of my team! What you all failed to realize it that the Best of Maryland is a Showcase/Viewing period for players and college coaches. Keeping this in mind, it would behoove a Coach/Parent/Player to allow players to recieve exposure in hopes of receiving a college scholly! I am truly sorry that you haters want to see E.Roose's "true" team but I would much rather help a child than prove a point to any of you haters! Too much surprise, the only additions we had to our team last year was Brittany Crowell & Nalani Hawkins. Brittany is now getting ready to attend JMU upon graduating HS and Nalani is attending Army! So unfortunately you all are upset because we picked up a player or two, but I am sure their parents aren't! We did not win the tourney so did it really matter who we had on our roster anyway? And to all of you haters that wanted to see the real team in Best of Maryland last year you got your chance to see the real E. Roose team at UMBC collecting their 3rd consecutive championship! :p ..And as a matter of fact in DC you can have an allstar team all year, and you are allowed to coach your entire team all year long! WE CAN'T! So in closing, anyone who has issues with E.Roose we'll see you at UMBC and if you aren't a maryland team call me...maybe we could schedule a game during the season!...Just keep in mind that at E.Roose WE LET LOSERS WORRY ABOUT LOSING!

If the rules don't say it is open to just High School teams, then you can't argue about it.

I guess he's made his point! But what I'm not so sure why so fiesty! Ima respond although I know for sure I'm not a hater. Don't know about the rules, just know what the title says & its a HS tourney.
Our team has tried to schedule with ER a few years ago & was not successful, but I'm not speaking on behalf of the coach or team when I'm on this board. These are personal views, on this matter I stated what I'd like to see...

River Hill HS has played the BOM with add ons to their high school roster for years. If the tournament director allows the rosters who should care.

Thanks UFG. That's what I use this board for, to gain knowledge, definitely not to encounter grown folks who are hot-heads that can't make a point without blowing up & involving others(kids)...
I like seeing good teams when the opportunity presents itself. I cheered ER on the whole tourney last year because they were good. I was informed by a few folks that they had some additions, that of course tainted my view of the team, it had nothing to do with if they beat us or won the whole thing or not!
If a team is in a HS tournament or showcase at the same time there are other showcases going on for AAU type teams, I'd assume that team is a HS team...that's it that's all.

First let me say thanks on behalf of the ERHS girl’s basketball program for continuously having our program on your minds. Many thanks. I do remember when E.Roos was never mentioned when girl’s basketball was concerned.
Why is it that you want to see the real E.Roos team? Why not any of the other hs teams? All the teams that are going to be at the BOM why is it so important that you'll see the real E.Roos team? I really want to know. Could'nt you have seen the real E.Roos team during the 2006-2007 season? You had ample opportunity because every big game played in P.G. county they participated. If you really wanted to see them that bad why haven’t you made it to UMBC in the past THREE years? I don't know but it sounds a little like hating.
As far as programs are concerned team excel is an entirely different entity than E.Roos. Not the same coaching staff or all the same players, but again, who cares and why, unless you are a hater? If you are for girls basketball how can you be against team excel or E.Roos there track record speaks for itself. Players involved in either program are respectable young ladies and meet with success both on and off the floor. The parents are knowledgeable and supportive without being over bearing and ill-mannered. So why are there any questions concerning the integrity of either program? But if there are going to be inquiries then lets inquiry about all the aau programs, high school teams, coaches, players etc.... How fair is it to be so concerned about team excel and E.Roos only? But that is fine with us. We welcome the attention and are actually appreciative and like I said before thank you. We welcome anybody interested in being successful and winning with integruity and character and we will "let losers worry about losing". :) Hope everyone looking for the real E.Roos get what they are looking for if not sorry but please keep us on your minds and in your prayers. ;)
P.S.
As far as playing teams outside the P.G. county 4A e.roos can only pick up one game and a X-mas tournament but I am sure they have fall leagues, summer leagues and scrimmages that can be scheduled if anyone is interested in playing.

TM4..actually I am a female coach assistant coach for E.Roose..so it's I guess she's made her point..but just to let you know I am not upset with anything that transpires on this message board. This is actually the first thread I have chose to take part in. I am all for the sucess of kids while maintaining a competative spirit. Contrary to what you stated...I am not upset with you, your opinions or your team. Actually, we are sisters in this male dominated basketball society, so I welcome the criticism and appreciate the consideration. Good Luck to HD and all of the participants in the BOM tourney. :)

Why is there so much concern tm? Your hd is a great program with a very good staff why would there be any problem with e.roos? If you really knew the deal it would have never been any conversation but I digress. Good luck to you and all the area programs in any tournament they participate in. And if there are any E.Roos haters SORRY?

Ok, Coach King, I apologize for referring to you as a guy, actually it doesn't really matter about the sex of the poster to me. I just don't bother with the whole he/she, him/her thing.
I never got the idea you were upset with ME as I didn't bring the topic up. I responded to what was posted with my information.
What I don't get is why the first inquiry about someone or a team that is not absolutely drooling over what they do is turned into hating by folks involved with that person or team, that IMHO, is shallow. With this game comes accusations & adversity, kids shouldn't get the idea that anyone who questions or inquires are haters, although there are many out here, everyone isn't.

"Can't We All Just Get Along"!!!
FWIW, I find info on these message boards entertaining and definitely educational especially since I have a daughter who plays competitive basketball and hopefully will be a recipient of a 2009 college scholly. I look forward to reading the daily postings especially those of TM4. One last thing, there may be haters on these boards, but I have read enough of the postings the past 8 months to know TM4 is not one of them.
Just my 2 cents!

Teammom actually, I consider people haters when they make comments that are negatively geared towards a issue or person without prior knowlegde of the subject at hand. There was cleraly some concerns people on this site may have had about the roster for E.Roose in the BOM tourney. E.Roose accepts any questions or concerns, but nothing that occured during the BOM tourney should TAINT your view of the hard work, character or integrity of this team/program. We were displaying character by allowing young ladies to recieve college looks! But since there were people who had problems with our roster last year I apologize for giving girls OPPORTUNITY. We clearly did not need them to fill gaps in our roster, since in fact the same results occured in 07, that took place the two years prior. So as I stated before..no hard feelings, and Good Luck to you and all of the teams participating in th BOM tourney.

NDNR, thanks for having my back!:) But, as we know perception is everything, and people interpret things the way they know how. But I do appreciate your seeing this as I do..
Ok, maybe I got in the middle of something I had nothing to do with. I never questioned the roster of ER in BOM to anyone that mattered, I have bigger fish to fry. Someone raised the point & I agreed.
If I see a team that someone tells me is a team that has been doing well for themselves & that team has 1 or 2 or 5 additional players, win or lose, it's not the team everyone was speaking of. I don't understand what part of that you can't understand.
As much as I love HS ball, I see it when I can, & when I could see ER, it was some additions to the team, thus I got a tainted view.
In no way have I tried to take character, opportunity, talent or anything else from these kids individually or as a team. I never even bought up integrity, but If you all did this underhandedly, than your integrity should be in question no matter why you did it, but if it's not against the rules, who cares! Now that I know what I'm looking at, its all good with me. If I wanna see the real ER, I'll just have to get out to UMBC, as I've been invited to do.
Is it ova yet!?!?

I leave the premises for a while and come back to a barn fire. Assuming that my comment(s) made me the hater let me be the first to say that "a hater" I definitely am not. I'm sorry that the tone of my post gave you or anyone else the impression that I had a problem with who was (is) on ERoose's roster. The funniest thing is I'm a supporter of E. Roose. I don't have any kids that attends school there, plays basketball there, plays summer ball with them or anything. I like and support Coach Hairston, I'm a true fan of Elaisher Hall, Olivia Applewhite, Brooke Wilson and a few others. I was simply saying I'd like to see how there true high school team would fair against other high school teams.
MY BAD!!! LOL
The smallest of things can blow a skirt up around these parts; male or female. Look at our "grown folks" trying to raise kids. LOL....

HL, on behalf of the players and eroos girls basketball program, many thanks for the support. And far as the real eroos you cannot see them until the entire staff; team and administration can get together. And the captain gets behind the helm and can guide the ship. I hope that some time in the near future the rules allow all the teams both private, and public the same opportunity to truly showcase there hs teams year round but until then the real eroos can only be seen from Nov. 15 - March 9.
Spring and summer basketball is dedicated to individual improvement and exposure opportunities. Although I hope the group that represents eroos in the BOM provides a glimpse of what is to come. Thanks again HL it’s all love and apologies if anyone took anything I previously posted out of context. Good luck to all the teams involved.
TM ........... I hope there are no hard feelings! I too enjoy your postings. They can be very thought provoking. Smiles all around.

I don't get all worked up over these boards, that's the beauty of knowing you have no control over ones thoughts & not really being consumed by what people think. I enjoy exchanging my thoughts & info on the boards, and am glad that some people find my thoughts interesting!
NDNR, you may be getting your request fulfilled...
