The Richmond Times-Dispatch reported that Virginia has taken a women's basketball commitment from 15-year-old Jazmin Pitts, who averaged 15 points and 12 rebounds last season as a freshman at Cosby High School in Midlothian. Pitts, a 6-foot-1 post player, led the Dominion District in scoring.

Coach Ryan is a legend but if UVA doesn't turn it around in the ACC she may not be there when Ms Pitts is a freshmen. A lot can happen in 3 yrs.

But it is still an honor to get offered up early.

Alright, sports fans--and 4street--it's time for the IH to check this Pitts chick out! Can anyone tell me where she's gonna be this fall? (the IH does NOT want to see her in age-group AAU ball...) Is the RBR gonna have to have some event in the fall, and invite Ms. Jazmin to participate?
4street, are you telling me that RIGHT NOW, at the major-D-1 level, you'd draft Jazmin over Ronika, Tiara, Ataira, and LaShay? In advance of the IH seeing Jazmin play for the first time, what is it that she's doing on the court right now that has you pronouncing her the top 2010 girl in our region?

No question I'd take her over Tiara and Ronika. I'd take Jazmine Johnson over those two as well. LaShay is a very good offensive player. Ataira Franklin is a TREMENDOUS player. A hard worker and a great talent. Pitts on this level is like a young Shaq, a potent mixture of power and speed at the 5. By the time she reaches UVA, she'll be like a young Karl Malone at the 4 with that same mixture. A player who can outrun you as well as outpower you in the post is hard to ignore. What makes her number 1 at this moment is simply the fact that she has a winning record head to head against 3 out of the other 5 you mentioned.
