Would you consider writing an article on what is acceptable on official and unofficial visits to a school I presume you're familiar with the NCAA regulations that govern recruiting and are more knowledgeable then some who are posting their opinion on other boards. I would think it's be good information for recruits that read this board. If you're not comfortable, how about conducting an in depth interview with an NCAA staff member.

If you could ask or address what recruits should do if they meet a famous alumni of a school and want to meet and talk to them?

What is acceptable when they meet fans of schools they're considering?

How in depth is the video that addresses recruiting that all players attending AAU events must watch? Does it provide recruits and their families with enough information to stay out of how water with the NCAA?

Thanks

I was wondering about a similar issue - Player signs with school X and then transfers after two years. If she talks , provides meal to a potential recruit from School X and is negative - is that an NCAA violation? The converse could be is she has a conversation that in essence says "make the decision that is best for you" School X wasn't best for me but it may be for you. (violation) or the third alternative "You should go to School X because ....." (violation)

I follow team Y from afar but have never attended a class, nor contributed financially other than buying some official gear. I talk to a potential recruit of Team Y and buy her a meal. Is the school subject to a violation?

I don't follow Team Q and dislike them. I wear the team gear and talk to a potential recruit and buy a meal . Is the school in violation?

those are both violations.

here is a link to all the rules but it may take a while.

Here is a good article about myspace and violations

the last paragraph is the part that applies. It says that fan can't talk to a recruit.......PERIOD.
