After Kizer was admitted to the hospital last night, her head injury was more serious than initially thought, Boo Williams withdrew his team from the tournament in NJ to give the players some much needed rest after winning the National Championship.

While you may think this is a laudable move, I question committing to such a frenzied schedule in the first place. Now, all they are doing is breaking a commitment to a tournament that impacts all the teams scheduled to play them. I say think out your schedule in advance and only make commitments you intend to keep.

I agree Glen, it may be a case were they were intending to keep the scheduled tourney's. I don't know the seriousness of Kizer but I would think that if it was bad it would have a mental aspect on things and cause them to rethink some things. This move may be a reevaluation of things rather than a random decomittment.

Looks like the Nationals threw them off, last year they never played games that close together. Weren't the Nat'ls about a week long? When you include travel & the level of play, maybe there should've really been a little more thought to the process.
AAR, I hope Lynetta is ok & the rest of the kids get that well deserved break. Does anyone know if TRP went to Atl., to the Jr. Phenom camp? I saw her name on the sight.

First of all, glad to hear that Kizer is doing well.
I don't recall saying I thought Boo's team withdrawing from the tournament was laudable.
Considering the circumstances, I do believe it was the right thing to do.

Good to hear Kizer is doing better.
I understand the fatigure factor, but, seems to me a committment is a committment. Better to go and lose than to say we are tired and pulling out of a tourney we committed to being in. Take some younger players along on the roster to help give players a break during the tourney.
I know an FBC team last year made East Coast to West Coast journey on the final day of the tournament, with no air conditioning in Las Vegas played three games and an all star game caught a flight back to the East Coast into another tourney go off the plane drove 45 miles and played another four games against top competition.
Now was that right? No - it was ridiculous scheduling. Did they win anything come the fifth, sixth or seventh game in less than 24 hours and a cross country flight..No...but, they honored their committment.
