How'd they do? I haven't heard anything about them since people were talking about them having 20 kids on the roster.

Our girls did very well. Team Unique had the best players in 1,2,3,5 positions. They didn’t win every game but, their working hard on the chemistry. A bunch a vagabonds coming together from various teams is sometimes hard to get the correct fit. all in all they put on a great show and had the best played games in the hole tournament.

The IH was in the house at the Peach State Basketball Best of Summer Tournament, 7/6-8 at Clemson University. You know, all of them sisters, pale and dark, from them woods and low farms in the South, that don't get the big deal Nike or adidas hookups, but they end up at them SEC, and Big East and ACC schools.
Brandon Clay of Peach State Hoops is on his way to blowing up the South as an event operator, and this was his "relaxed", and "in the cut" event to kick off July. With a whole rack of college coaches in the house to eyeball the blazers.
The Team Unique crew was the only non-South team in the building, and represented the MD/DC/VA region well. The 17U Team went 2-2 to kick off the month--losing the obligatory "I'm a little girl and I don't feel like blazing today" game; and losing to the HOME TEAM by two (as a MD/DC/VA guy, the IH is gonna say, in an emotional moment, that the no-call at the end on Jocelyn Bailey's drop-step power-move WHILE GETTING HACKED ON THE ARM...).
Team Unique highlights, sports fans:
1. Akeema Richards, 5'8", 2009, Western/Baltimore, Md. - quarterbacking the action, getting to the paint and to the rack at will, for the mid-range J-ball and attacking the basket, with quickness and strength; blanket-defending blazers, and rebounding like a post player;
2. Jocelyn Bailey, 6'0", 2008, The Bullis School/Potomac, Md. - basic ballin' on the wing and on the block, hitting the 3-ball, the mid-range J-ball, slashing to the rack, and showing an assortment of post moves; defending all five positions with position, footwork, and intellectuals; shot at least 10 free throws a game;
3. Chasity Clayton, 6'1", 2008, Thomas Edison/Alexandria, Va. - you sports fans know the deal here--she had a mental moment the entire tournament and All-Star Camp, as she REALLY thought she was Tracy McGrady; she played like a REAL All-American 80% of the time; how about the 1-on-2 fast break, with the trick dribbles to shake the two, into gliding above the rim with that and-1 finger roll?
4. Nyree Williams, 6'1", 2009, Howard/Ellicott City, Md. - without question, the best PF/C all tournament; she had to average at least 20 points/20 rebounds/10 blocks every game, for the tournament and the All-Star Camp; the quickest hops, and the highest hops, of any body in the building, with several head-on-the-rim blocks and rebounds; the IH's pick for Tournament MVP, sports fans!
And yes, sports fans, there WAS a 6'1" 13-year-old 8th grader on the TU 15U Team at Clemson, and in the adidas Top-Ten All-American 7th/8th/9th Grade Camp at Suwanee. The IH doesn't want to get too emotional here, so the IH is gonna say only two words: CIERRA BURDICK. Check the rhyme...

And a MD/DC/VA-region shout out, sports fans, to Talen Watson, 5'8", 2010, Arundel/Gambrills, Md. At Clemson with the TU 15U, she was one of the top three youngin' PG's who the IH saw; at Suwanee in the 7th/8th/9th All-Star Camp, she was clearly the top PG in the building.
At the Camp, she quarterbacked the action near-flawlessly; she had AT LEAST 10 assists a game; she took advantage of her scoring opportunities, with some timely 3-balls, some slashes to the basket in-traffic, and some mid-range J-balls; and, she played the tough, physical point-guard defense that the IH likes to see the youngins play...

Nyree William's nickname should be VELCRO cause she was sticking people's stuff to the board like it was nothing.
Ms. Burdick attempted a fast break dunk in the Top Ten Camp...she was there... just a fraction off flushing it for real. 6 months she is throwing it down with authority.

Yo Tiger81, the hospitality on the grub was kickin', ESPECIALLY at the Western Steak and Sizzler buffet joint! The herb butter, on the IH's yeast rolls, sopped up serious gravy off of the IH's HUGE pork chops like never before!
And by the way, sports fans, Chasity Clayton's T-Mac impersonation and Nyree Williams's human helicopter performance earned them selections to the Peach State Basketball Best of Summer Tournament All-Tournament Team. Congrats!
Remember, sports fans: the MD/DC/VA region is like that, and everyone knows it...
