It has been rumored for a while. It will be interesting to see if someone in the media looks closely into this hire. There are a lot of other rumors about this hire that I won't cite as they are just rumors but we'll see if anyone shakes the rug or just lets it go because it is women's basketball at USC, a football school.

How quickly you go from praising the recruiting efforts of Mark Trakh and assembling basketball talent at USC to dismissing USC as a women's basketball program at a football school. What do you attribute USC two national championships and four final four apperances in women's basketball during the 1980's? That old hoopgurlz bias thing is at it again..

But then , sports fan, what have the Women of Troy done in the 1990's? And in the new Millenium?

The key to this gig may be what Erv Monier brings to the table, and how he executes it...

Bias towards what? There was no bias in that reply. I certainly don't see where you get that USC's women's basketball program was being dismissed by Chris. I think to most of the women's basketball fans out there (including myself) it may be the USC administration that is dismissing the women's hoops program at USC. Trakh has proven that he and his staff are great recruiters, and he's a very good coach too. I think it is very questionable that he and his staff were let go in the manner they were in order to hire Michael Cooper. IMO, Cooper is not a very good coach (at least with the Sparks) and has no recruiting track record or experience.

I agree 100% - this was not a good hire - you cannot start on such negative terms, Trakh was well like by the team and the recruits, I agree with Chris in that USC is not thinking right, it's not about flash it's about substance on the girls side.
