Congratulations to Ka'lia and her family. Great article on Virginiapreps, but I suspect Shay Selby might have a little something to say about who takes over at the starting PG position when Jasmine graduates. Ka'lia can easily play the 2, though, so I'm sure she'll get plenty of court time early in her Duke career.

Shay Selby needs to worry about getting off the bench first.

Two years to go, it's scary how good she can be by the time she gets to Duke. Great pick up.

Congratulations to Ka'lia, I remember first seeing her with her U11 AAU team and was asking everyone who was #14? Talked to her AAU coach at that time and she didn't speak very highly of her and I thought this lady is crazy. Saw her with her U12 AAU coach before she moved and he talked crazy too. I only could think that these remarks sounded all too familiar with these coaches concerning certain players. I had a chance to coach her in San Diego at a camp and when I asked the expert Clark Francis whod he like on my team he kind of hinted to a couple other players, I then asked directly about Ka'lia who was my best player by far and he didn't agree, I told him to come see her again. He watched her in her next two games and apologized and said she was easily one of the nations best. She was voted a camp all star and ranked nationally #2 at that camp. That was the first time that I saw first hand the experts missing a player at first. I had talked to her dad about schools about a year ago and I hoped he would think Orange, i had told coach about her, but when I saw the way his and her eyes light up when Duke was mentioned, I knew Duke was a lock. My daughter and her got a chance to match up against each other at in Atlanta last year at the Top Ten All American Camp, they had really looked forward to playing together for a while and the both had a blast.
Congrats again keep up the good work.
