Most def. She and her husband Derek have been key components in USC's tremendous recruiting run and are universally liked and respected. Jody is one of those rising star assistants many have been watching.

Well liked and knows SoCal. It's a great hire. One has to wonder how much the admin at USC stringing the coaching staff along for all this time impacted her decision. Congrats to Jody (and the eventual addition of Derek as well)!

As a Long Beach State fan I am really excited about this hire. Jody has done a tremendous job recruiting for both Pepperdine and USC, and you need talent to win. I went to LBSU during Joan's years and their final four runs. It was an exciting time and those teams hooked me on women's basketball. I would love to see this program rise to point that NCAA tourney berths were frequent and winning a couple of games was not out of the question.

Besides Jody's talents as a coach, she is a tremendous person, wife, and mother. She will fit in perfectly with the family atmosphere the university tries to foster for their employees and student athletes. I truly believe the future is bright for both Jody and LBSU. Go Beach!
