If you are getting the "Access Denied" page during the purchase process, you got caught in a small window this morning during which we were experimenting with a new cookie we thought would help your navigation.
To resolve this, you have two options (by the way, we added a Log Out button on the top navigation strip on the front page (and all story pages)):
1.) Delete Your Cookies, or
2.) Log out twice
Here are instructions for both:
Delete Your Cookies
In Internet Explorer, go to the Tools menu.
Select Internet Options.
Under Browsing History, select Delete.
Click the Delete Cookies tab.
In Firefox, go to Tools menu.
Select Clear Private Data.
Uncheck everything but Cookies.
Click the Clear Private Data Now button.
Log out twice
Go to http://hoopgurlz.com.
Log out.
Go to http://secure.hoopgurlz.com.
Log out.
Now log back into the regular site (http://hoopgurlz.com).
It's very important that you log out of both sites (or sessions, for you tech heads).
THANKS very much for bearing with us!!

I tried all of that and it still didnt work.
I am sure it is just a glitch in the system, but not sure what to do next.
I deleted cookies, logged out.... logged back in...etc..etc.. and all i get is this..
"Access denied
You are not authorized to access this page. "

I deleted my cookies for HoopGurlz.com and secure.hoopgurlz.com and emptied my cache but no matter how many times I sign out or sign out plus dump the cookies, I always get the access denied page. Tried it with Firefox and Safari and neither worked. I am on a Mac.

Honestly, that isn't enough information to figure this out. At which step are you getting the error page?
If you would please email info@hoopgurlz.com with the following, I'll send it on to my tech guy:
Computer:
Operating System:
Browser:
URL of this website (there are several):
Step-by-step, when you do ____ , this happens ____ explanation.

I just e-mailed your tech guy. This is what I told him:
Mac with OS 10.2
Firefox
I followed Glenn's instructions and deleted all my cookies. I also cleared my cache. I shut down the browser, started it back up, checked that I had no cookies at all, and then went to http://hoopgurlz.com. I logged in, clicked on the Premium story and then the link to the sign up page, but got directed to the "access denied" page. I then repeated the cookie deletion, logged off on hoopgurlz.com and secure.hoopgurlz.com. Went back and tried to login and go to the sign up page, but got the "access denied" again.
I also have Safari that I rarely use, so I tried that one, since Glenn said the problem was due to a loop for those who logged in this morning, and I know I have not logged in on Safari for months. I went to hoopgurlz.com and signed in, and when I tried to get the premium sign-up page, I got the "access denied" message again.

Looking at your steps, this is what I think is the issue:
A link to the subscription page was faulty and is no longer supposed to appear (it doesn't for me). Rather, use the "add to cart" link to begin the purchase process.
Or, better yet, start the whole thing by going here:
http://www.hoopgurlz.com/subscription

9 PM and still having the same problem. I'm getting the access denied page. Like others I'lve logged out and deleted all cookies. :(

Where is the add to cart link? I looked under print purchases and don't see a cart there. BTW when you'r on the Pay Pal page and click to go back to the merchant you're directed to the scout page.

I deleted my cookies and then went directly to the above subscription page, but on that page the message is still "access denied". In fact, when I logout from the main page, I somehow get taken to that same subscription page with "access denied". I don't see an ad to cart anywhere but I'll look again. I know some other folks who cannot sign up, so if you do not get a great response to the Platinum, it is not that we are not trying.
Edit: I finally got it to work. I clicked on one of the Platinum stories and followed the link to sign up. There I did find the add to cart button, which worked.

I'm not sure where people are trying to sign up. wbbfan1, it sounds like you are in a completely different place.
Believe me, click on this link and there is an "add to cart" link:
http://hoopgurlz.com/subscription
or click on the banner ad on the front page.

If I go to http://hoopgurlz.com/subscription I get a message that I am not authorized to view the page. I've gotten to that error message in three different ways: from the login page, the subscribe page, and the link on your announcement page.
I have IE version 6.0.2800.1106 with 128-bit encryption.
I don't think it has anything to do with the operating system or browser if a Mac running Firefox and an Microsoft operating system running IE have the same problems. Just my educated guess.
IF you create a new membership WITHOUT admin privileges, you can see exactly what happens. I used to have exactly the same error message accessing the Contact page, so whatever was done to fix that page likely needs to be done to the subscription page...

I was able to sign up using the same process chimera used, bypassing the "subscription" page entirely.

I"m sorry the link you provided does not work and THERE IS NO add to cart link. I got directed to the access denied page.
I also did what chimera did and acessed another story and then was able to get to add to cart.
I signed up that way. However others may give up or not read this thread to find the work around.

We have discovered a couple of issues:
No one should log in on the forum page; always log in on the front page.
The only way to access the subscription page (via link or clicking on the banner ad) is to be logged in first.
Again, log in on the front page of the website, then click on the banner ad.
