I'm hearing people talk about some camp at Delaware State this past weekend. What teams went? How did they do? Who did well while there?

What a great weekend! The teams that were there were(listed by seeds going into playoffs): 1.)Riverdale Baptist 7-0
2.)Harrisburg H.S. 6-1
3.)Flowers 5-2
4.)Dunbar H.S.
5.)Largo H.S.
6.)Harrisburg#2(j.v.)
7.)N.Y. Rams(aau team)
8.)Middletown,Del.
Riverdale easily made it to the championship game, where they were the odds on favorite. Harrisburg and Flowers had a rematch game , where the first one went into overtime from a 3 ball by Harrisburgs' Stacei Dennis from deep. Harrisburg went on to take control of the game in overtime for the win. In the rematch game Harrisburg controlled the game and won by double digits to set up the REMATCH game. So there you have it, undefeated Riverdale Baptist and the Harrisburg Cougars in the championship. Riverdale had previously beaten the Cougars by 17pts. 33-16. Paybacks is a ____ ! I believe Riverdale came into the game a little too confident, as players fueled the fire by telling the Cougar players that they were going to fry them again. Throughout the first half it was a relatively close game, no team up by no more than 4 pts. I belive it was a 1-2 pt game at the half, with basically all the scoring coming from S. Proctor of Harrisburg and A. Franklin of Riverdale. The 6'3" T. Hawkins from Riverdale was not a factor because she was in foul trouble for most of the game, picking up four fouls in the first half. Furthermore, Roneika(who's game I have the utmost respect for) was held relatively quiet all game. The second half was even more exciting as both teams pressed each other creating a lot of turnovers, going back and forth. As the game got into the later stages, Harrisburg seemed to be more relaxed and in control as they took a 2 point lead under a minute. (I don't believe Riverdale thought these girls would be in the game at this stage). Riverdale eventually ties it up and both teams had a chance to win at the end, but neither team could finish shots....To Overtime we go!!!! Harrisburg scored first and never looked back!! The Cougars of Harrisburg eventually win by 3 points 27-24 in a BARNBURNER!! Sabre Proctor is named M.V.P. of the camp and HARRISBURG girls basketball is now on the map!!!
PEACE......until next time!

That's how folks used to come on & give game reviews & I enjoyed that, thanx I99!
My, that was a LOW scoring game! At any rate, I saw Harrisburg last year at the BOM, as a matter of fact I befriended one of the players & the coaches & we ended up playing them & they beat us! I liked my friend's game she seemed to carry a lot of the weight on the team, but I don't remember her name or num. I saw her @ University HS this past season they weren't playing but she was in the gym, I think she was an underclassmen probably a rising senior now, but she looked tough & them team looked strong overall. I plan on being at BOM this year & hope to check them out!

my daughters team was blown out by rbs they stayed to watch the game she said she didn't really pay attention and assumed that rbs had won. her friends mom has the game much the same as I99 she says proctors dad was coaching and the game had bragging rights undertones because johnsons dad was coaching rbs. she said that I99's girl dennis had a couple of nice plays when they met, but in the championship game rbs was in foul trouble throughout trying to stop proctor whom I99 also has custody of and they she did as she pleased within the flow of the game. I heard that rbs parents and a coach was saying that they lost because their girls were tired from playing so many games (how many did hburg play?) also she said rbs only went 6 deep during regulation and 7 deep in the ot which would explain the fatigue. rbs led most of the game however the clock rules were different than normal and coaching strategy came into play at some point. also I hear that by all rights hburg should have won in regulation having the ball 3 times with the tie in the final 25 second. hburg also did there job at the ft line. my opinion of all said seems like pride was a big factor or hburg is just that good.

Both Riverdale and Harrisburg played 10 games apiece over the weekend...with Harrisburg having only 8 players and Riverdale with at least 12 players. Both teams were fatigued...shouldn't be an excuse....it came down to who WANTED it more and coaching played a role of course!!!
