It appears that Maya has been unfairly put in the middle of the ongoing question as to the end of the UConn Tennessee Annual Matchup. Maya's High School Coach speaks up and out regarding the situation

in this forum. We are reading what an editorial writer's opinion is as to what has happened. Do you know for sure what he writes is correct, word for word. I think not and until it is made clear what is involved,,, this issue should be off limits. We can talk all we want on how wrong it is to put MAya in the middle and it is but the media are the one's who are doing it by such an article. I know Tracey spoke on this but there are parts missing in my opinion from her quotes. Yes I feel for Maya because I know her very well and yes she is being hurt from all this but there was some problems. Maya is absolutely one of the finest kids in the world, one of which I am glad my daughters know because how she handled herself and the best roll model a younger person can have. With that there is more to it all and Maya IS paying for it because of other's wants.
Understand a writer can take quotes and write an article with the slant he wants, if you don't believe me, read his closing statements about " Maya playing with UConns top recruit EDD in July" and that is so misleading in content. He makes it sound like Elena is commited to Uconn and we all know about that. If anyone thinks it is different then reread it and tell me how you see it. This is why writers can play such an important part in people's perception. It is possible to use the pen to give the slant or spin to any issue that the writer wants. All through the article instead of printing her complete statements and the fever of which it was given, the writer interjects what he thinks she meant with her statements.
Please understand I think this post does nothing other than fan the flames that are cooling down from Pat's refusal to extend the contract. Also notice that 85% of the editorials are from the media in Conn. At what point does this issue lie down and left alone till what happened comes out from the paries involved and they come forward with the truth. We all know that both schools are aware of what the problems are and by most of these editorials being produced by a media grounded in Conn leads intelligent people to look past the where all the ruckus is being generated to wonder why such a strong spin machine is in gear.
Now "IFYOUSAYSO" posts an article that would be better off deleted as it is not in the spirit of what this forum is about. This site is for the kids and not to incite emotions from parents and fans of schools involved in whatever the probem is. I know my post will incite strong emotions from the fans of both schools to the point that we will have a 30 post followup and that is NOT THE INTENTIONS OF THIS SITE,, IS IT GLENN??? there is no reason to rehash this over and over,,, if so do it on the boards of each school,,, not a site construed in a noble honor for the recognition of the high school female basketball players

Is this site for the kids as you state above? I thought it was for those interested in Girls basketball. I would venture a guess that most of the participants are adults. I think the subject introduced by ifyousayso is a legitimate one and see nothing infammatory about it.

a case of changing the intended meaning. This site is about HS girls, Right?
Maya is no longer a hs lady, I just see nothing to gain by debating the isssues of UConn and UT,,, All this will do is draw out strong opinions one way or another and there are boards for that purpose, Try the Summitt or Boneyard

The Tennessee-UConn issue has touched high-school players. Maya Moore was a high-school player during the period the story discussed, plus Elena Delle Donne has been brought into the fray. IYSS did us all a service by posting the link. My disappointment is that this thread turned into a discussion about the merits of IYSS's post. It also does not have to degernerate into a debate over the Tennessee-Connecticut series, but can be a discussion over high-school players being used as pawns in college-athletics politics, for example.

William Shakespeare and the IH are lying out on the hardwood, in side-splitting laughter, tankards of grog splayed about, over much ado about nothing!.
The "Relax Room" has been spoken to by the IH, and p-40 has a reservation for the weekend, if he/she wants...

Chill Out, Folks! People on Internet message boards are getting so worked up over this issue, which doesn't affect them in the least.
Just grab some popcorn and let the saga unfold. Really, it's cheaper than the movies...

Sorry to come to the party so late...IH you have space in the Chill Room for a weary traveler?
P40 wasnt trying to ruffle your feathers. I myself enjoy reading anything I can get my hands on about womens basketball. Love the game. Since most high school players that we follow on these boards are most likely going to play basketball past high school...news about colleges and players that are transitioning become relevant. Now how you choose to interpret the news is another thing.

iyss, the "Relax Room" is perfect for those of us who want to STAND DOWN for a hot second. Fully-staffed with bartender, and the full compliment of board games. And let's not forget a full-time DJ, playing VINYL, not CD's.
I had to visit, myself, for a couple of days last week. p-40 might still be there. If you're going, hit me on the BatPhone, so we can meet there and chat again about that "thing" from w-a-a-a-y over there, just west of the Mississippi...

C'mon, IH, can't really be a relax room without a backgammon board or two, plus some bar stools from which I can dangle my platforms.

Yo, g-buzz, you've obviously visited, in the wake of being kicked off Scout.com (what a blower!). You seem to have an appreciation for the '70's atmosphere of the "Relax Room".
Maybe we should bring Maya and her mama in for a few sessions, before her first UConn season kicks off.
Would it be cool for Joni Mitchell to come in and chirp for them?
