Purdue gets second 08 verbal

Sam Ostarello is the first '09 player so commit to Purdue. Ostarello, a 6-2 forward from South Dakota, took her first trip to Purdue and won co-MVP honors. She was soon offered and accepted a scholarship from Coach V and company. Has anyone seen Ms. Ostarello play? Most Purdue fans aren't very aware of South Dakota girl's high school basketball players.

Let me tell you Boilerfan this player is off the chain. What cant she do?....she is flying WAY under the radar as she does not play on a summer travel team and from a very small farming town in South Dakota. She was dressed to impress at their camp last week with handles of a guard, a clean stroke and the ability to dunk over players. I most compare her to a combination of EDD and Maya Moore. Ultra Athletic like Moore and a heart that doesnt stop and the clean guard play that utilizes her height from the perimeter like EDD...AMAZING Player. Glenn-Chris I will be hitting you up on the batphone regarding Sam.

I would rank her in the top 20 of all players I have seen in the past three years. Amazing find for Purdue. They had her and her high school coach on lock down last week.

Thanks! Wow, she seems like an exciting player. She won a South Dakota state title for high jump and also won one for running. She seems like a athletic BEAST. For a junior to win co-MVP honors at Purdue's elite camp tells you something about her as a basketball player. She averaged around 15 ppg and 12 rebs and 5 blocks as a sophmore for her high school team. Instead of becoming known through AAU ball, her AD Guy Hunter just sent out tape to 10 or so schools.
