Info on AAU team please

Texas Lady All-stars..........

Has anyone heard of this team? Are they good, are they deep? How do they rank in Texas?

Never heard of them. What age group and what part of Texas are they from?

We played them this weekend. Some of the kids played for Dickinson who made it to state and has one of the top PGs in Texas. They also have kids from Angleton, Clear Creek and Baytown Sterling. Coach is a great guy, his daughter is the PG from Dickinson. I don't know, it seems like AAU coaches who have daughters that run the point all happen to be great guys.

Well if he reads this I bet he will go out and BBQ something. The guy is a culinary whiz, I can see it now. "Welcome to the Food Network, following Emeril, we will have grubbyshutouts Cabrito ala Pat. I'm telling you this guy can cook, he knows his stuff. Chicken fried steak/gravy, roux for the gumbo he can go on and on but I think he doesn't like bragging because I am NOT a good cook.

Personally, I haven't had the opportunity to try any of his "grub". I might have to give him a hard time about that!

Shrimp Etoufee Recipe:

Ingredients:
1 bunch of celery
2 green bell peppers
5 white onions
4 garlic toes
1 pack of pre-sliced mushrooms
2 cups of rice
4 lbs. of shrimp (peeled and deveined)
3 cans of Campbells Golden Mushroom Soup
Tony Chachere's Original Seasoning
1.5 sticks of Land-O-Lakes salted real butter

To Cook:

Chop up celery, bell peppers, onions, mushrooms and press toes of garlic. Add all these ingredients along with butter and seasoning, to taste. Saute until ingredients are clear/cooked. Add golden mushroom soup and cook a little less than medium for 30 minutes. Add shrimp and cook another 30 minutes a little less than medium meanwhile cooking the white rice in another pan. Serve over rice!

Man would you believe I used to make my crawfish etoufee almost the same way, minus the celery because the kids wouldn't eat it. Thanks for bringing back some good memories.

(Nike Team) Texas Lady All-Stars 16/17U, Won the MY Stars Houston Angels Houston Invitational 16U/17U Varsity. They beat Texas Hoopin Angels with Karima "C" and The Houstonians 17U with 2 other rated players.

They are not a NIKE team. We beat them in the Cobras Tournament the week after your tournament. The only Nike teams in Texas are Cy Fair Shock and DFW Elite. Unlike Adidas, Nike sponsor teams with big name players, at least down here.

It's alot of teams with swooshes on their jerseys but I am telling you that in Texas unless something has changed, DFW and Cy Fair are the only two. Last year West Coast Elite had 4 kids from Houston on their team and this made those braniacs from Nike realize they needed a Texas presence on the girl's side. Hey with Phi Slama Jamma girl's of tomorrow, you may want to get in touch with Mary Thompson. Think about it, you all make a run at Nationals, you have three 12s over 6 ft. Why not?
