Education Week has come out with their annual ratings of state public education systems

Maryland ranked #1
Virginia ranked #4
and unfortunately the District of Columbia ranked #1 in the worst category:(.

It is unfair to single out DC, it is not a state therefore it doesn't have other cities/counties to offset it's low performance, most states have a city/county that is in a similar situation, Yes DC has it's problems, but it is not a state,


just my take on it
