These are the juniors that can straightout ball but you may not read about them a lot if at all. Their fan base never brag and you never hear them whining about not having their name in lights. Yeah they can put up 30, but they have excepted a role for team chemistry. Their parents don't hype them up even though some of them are the best all around players on the team. These kids play so hard night in and night out and although they might not stand out on your stat sheet, they teams success depends on them. Yep, they "fly low", under the radar. The college coaches who are grinders know who they are, but I'm putting ALL college coaches on notice don't wait too long or you might miss out. These kids are the reason that the DMV is like that in the first place.

There a young lady that played with the MD Flames #34 I believe, I'm so sorry your name escapes me right now, was hurt maybe attends Blake. Soon as I remember you are in there too.

Okay forgive my digression from the topic. BUT HERE ARE A FEW OF MY THOUGHTS.
1. One of the young ladies mention receives a great deal of mention and IS OVER RATED. Many posters have mentioned her name as one of the best at her position. I have watched her several times, sat next to two college coaches who have also heard the hype, and neither of us saw a damn thing that impressed us. Sorry no name!
2. One young lady is very close to me and SHE CAN'T CATCH. No name please..
3. One young lady is well how can I saw it SHE SHOOTS TOO MUCH. And does not shoot very well. Yea she is tough but...

Do you have anything positive to say about any of them? If so this is a good opportunity to do so. Let's try and keep this thread on a positive note.

By the way your pick...

Nice Post... Very Positive. Christine Weithman at Blake - torn ACL I believe at Nationals in FF last summer... Could be the reason that Flames didn't win the AAU National championship (no point as the teams other point tore her ACL two weeks before Nationals.) .. Am I recalling this correctly?

Alyssa Frye and Andrea Hobbs. These 2 have been on the scene since at least they were 10 from what I recall. They've played in the shadow of Jasmine Pitts during a few summers and behind Kalia Johnson down at Thomas Dale however, the successes of those teams have been significantly impacted by those 2.

Andrea Bason (I believe that is the spelling) and Sasha Orr at Seneca Valley. Both girls have been playing great ball. Their defense (Orr has held several high scorers to 10 points or less) and ability to be in the right place at the right time has made a hugh difference for SV.

Sasha is a freshman, correct? This is about juniors:eek:. But she was been locking down and annoying MoCos top scorers for SV

But, Wise's combo of Leslie Slayton and Janay Borum deserve some recognition.
Janay is averaging about 7 assists per game for the season. She is a press breaker by herself. Had nine assists vs. Roosevelt.
Leslie is averaging double figures (scored 19 vs. Arundel). She is also averaging about 4 assists per game. Tough duo to handle and they are just juniors.

I can second that on Janay Borum. I saw Wise play Forest Park at the IAABO, and Miss Borum matched up VERY well with D. Jackson. In the 2nd half, the Wise coach changed defensive assignments and Miss Jackson lit it up.
