Poly loses again????
Yep. To be honest, there's not a lot of effort to be seen in their two games so far.

December 19 and 20, 2005, in the first two rounds of the Nike TOC, to Ursuline and St. Mary's (Phoenix) by a combined eight points. Poly finished that season 28-8 and still won the CIF D-I title.
Since then, Poly has been 98-8 coming into yesterday's game.

My daughter has played them either in the club circuit or in summer tournaments the past few years and no matter what kind of run we could manage, Candace Nichols, Jasmine Dixon, and April Cook would take over. Last year in the Regional playoffs, Narbonne had them beat until Jasmine came in and took over. This year we played them in our organized scrimmage and I realize it was just a scrimmage, but they didn't seem as imposing. They are still a very good team but they may not be as "invincible" as years past.

Mater Dei may be the best team here, but they are not in the top bracket.

Is Mater Dei utilizing a full court press for these games?

I've seen Mater Dei I can't believe they could be the best team there? They must be really hitting on all cylinders.

They mix up pressing and half court. They are firing on all cylinders offensively and Kaleena is scoring inside and out. Nobody has been able to even slow her down. They have two d-1's off the bench, guard depth, shooting ability. Jordan Adams is playing like an upperclassman so far. They haven't been challenged yet even though they've played two good teams. We'll see how they finish this week up.

Handing them that title would be premature in my opinion until they at least play a good team - of all the teams I've seen those 2 were pretty weak in that bracket - top bracket has the better teams and the bottom of the 2nd bracket has also the better teams - I would say they definitely have the best coach as some of the talent these other coaches have I can't understand why they're not winning. Mater Dei will struggle with a team with height and as you can see from their scoring, the rest ofthe team do not score too well.

I wouldn't hand anyone the title. This is high school girl's basketball and anything can happen on any given day. St. Mary's (AZ) was a good team and Highlands Ranch isn't exactly terrible.
I wish they had been seeded in the top bracket as well but you play with the cards you are dealt.
