Over the last several years or as long as you guys have kept these stats, what schools have your top 10 rated players gone to. It is my guess that the teams with the most top tens would be UConn, Tennessee, Duke, and Stanford. the next group would include Maryland, UNC, LSU, Oaklahoma, Rutgers Texas Baylor. With your star ratings and a larger pool of quality players perhaps the recruiting classes will tend to even out. This past year Tennessee Duke and UConn again dominated the class although UConn didnt have as many they did have the number 1. It would also be fun to see how these classes contributed to the teams successes ie Final Fours and National Championships. Thanks

I think they just started in 2006...their top 10 was:
1. Tina Charles-Connecticut
2. Jackie Gemelos-USC
3. Jayne Appel-Stanford
4. Brittainey Raven-Texas
5. Amanda Thompson-Oklahoma
6. Monica Wright-Virginia
7. Amber Harris-Xavier
8. Dymond Simon-Arizona State
9. Jordan Murphree-Texas Tech
10. Epiphanny Prince-Rutgers

Lots of balance in this class.

In 2007, their top 10 was/is:
1. Maya Moore-Connecticut
2. Angie Bjorklund-Tennessee
3. Jantel Lavender-Ohio State
4. Kayla Pedersen-Stanford
5. Vicki Baugh-Tennessee
6. Italee Lucas-North Carolina
7. Krystal Thomas-Duke
8. Jasmine Thomas-Duke
9. Marah Strickland-Maryland
10. Khadijah Rushdan-Rutgers

Are you asking about player rankings or the college recruiting class rankings?

An obvious characteristic of today's women's game is quality depth. You'd have to look at least twenty-deep, and perhaps, on through the top fifty to truly evaluate today's recruiting classes.

For instance, I'm pretty sure that Stanford is tickled pink with the signing of #22 Jeanette Pohlen. And how about Xavier getting #28 Ta'shia Phillips? And the red-headed bomber, Sydnie Smallbone, at number thirty-eight, will more-than-likely contribute early and often at Tennessee. Of course there are several other examples.

And look what's being demonstrated in Colorado Springs. Thirty-Six! And I'll bet that Glenn, Chris and Coach Kallam could pick a very competitive twelve-member team from those not present.

i think depending on the level of contribution, you can go back as far as the 100s and find a diamond that is able to give some minutes here, or play a role there. i also feel that the 07 Class is a monster one, and some of the better players might emerge later down the road.

I was talking about player rankings and the schools that recruited them as I was trying to ascertain a feel for parity in wcbb. As the sport develops it is my hope that the difference between a top ten player and a top fifty player skill wise narrows. Which I think is happening now as there seems to be a lot more high caliber players around. This will be great for wcbb in general as more teams will be able to recruit talent that will give them a chance to contend for a national championship. Let face it teams like Tennessee and UConn are able to recruit elite talent year in and year out. If there are more elite caliber players then teams that traditionally have not had a realistic chance to contend for a national championship will be given a shot at bigger talent pool to help them achieve this goal. To that end I think it will increase interest in the womens game and ultimately more young ladies will be attracted to the game. Over the last several years ND, Baylor and Maryland all won there first championship and I personally think that is great for WCBB.Thanks
