Sports fans--discriminating, and otherwise--the IH is coming up on his 1,000th post at HoopGurlz.com.
That's 1,000 times that the IH gave his OPINION, amongst the heathens who thought 1,000 times that the IH was an educated idiot.
That's 1,000 times that the IH thought that them pundits, scouts, college coaches, school and club coaches, and parents were smoking too many trees; while that same band of gypsies thought 1,000 times that the IH was, well, just another one of the brothers--not the REAL word, sports fans, if you know what the IH means--with the chest puffed out...

So, what will you sports fans do to celebrate the 1,000th post of The Man Who Thinks He Knows Almost Everything? Of the man who calls himself The Dispenser Of Logic for the MD/DC/VA/WVA Region? Of the man who invented his own cyber chill spot, The Relax Room, and created his own relationship with a cutie cager, Nicole Powell, to go with it?

To be continued, to be certain...

I am recommending a pinata in your likeness...I am sure the discriminating sports fans will line up to crack your head literally.

Inside the pinata will be those little chocolate bottles filled with amaretto and grand marnier and some Fried Biscuits for HighLevel.

I am one of those bored federal workers, so I'll study Mr. Hoodlum's 1000th post for 3-4 hours. Then I'll have lunch. Probably call it a day after that.

Dunno what I'd do without the DMV board to get me through such a rough schedule.

I'm all for the Fried Biscuits in the pinata but I'll pass my swing on to the next man/woman.

This is something that many don't know. The IH made his very first post to Hoopgurlz while sitting on the knee of the buried man at Haines Point. True story. I suggest that we all meet at the Harbor now that the statue has been moved for his 1,000th post on that same knee. What a monumental moment that will be.

Transfer to the U.S. Interior Department. I hear its plenty to do there.

I think Treasury might have a few items on their "to do" lists that they'll need a hand with too...:D

For those of you who go hard at being drum-beaters for the D-M-V, that's 35 MD/DC/VA/WV-region girls, out of a total of 83 girls in the East region--representing the entire Eastern Seaboard, from Maine to Virginia. For you numbers nerds, that's 42% of the total East region, as D-M-V representation!

The IH would also like to congratulate H.D. Woodson/Washington, D.C. and Riverdale Baptist/Upper Marlboro, Maryland, on being listed as 2 of The Top Twenty Teams In The Country To Watch.

A further breakdown, for you sports fans who may care:
High School Representation
Riverdale Baptist, 4 players;
H.D. Woodson, 3 players;
Oak Hill Academy, 2 players;
Arundel, 2 players;
St. John's College, 2 players;
Eleanor Roosevelt, 2 players;
Howard, 2 players.

Club Program Representation
Boo Williams Elite, 9 players;
Fairfax Stars, 7 players;
Team Unique, 3 players;
D.C. Lady Cobras, 3 players.

Street & Smith's was the original bible featuring elite high school players, some 20+ years ago; and has featured girls for about 15 years, or so. It was bought out by Sporting News a few years ago.
On the girls side, Street & Smith has always been accused of displaying a distinct Nike/Blue Star bias, in its selections of players and high school teams. A casual glance at this year's listings would also seem to support those accusations.

Whatever the deal may be, S&S has always been a nice way to start off the school season, with its previews and predictions of HIGH SCHOOL success. Of course, it's also been a great way to spark off debate about all things POLITICAL for high school and club basketball.

All living things seem to care so much about LISTINGS AND RANKINGS. What plant gets the most sun. What building is the tallest. Who's fastest; who's quickest; who jumps the highest. Who's the best scorer; who's the best defender. Who has the most potential. Who has the most talent. Who's the best player.
And then, there are the political considerations: what school AND club teams do you roll with; what gear company does your school AND club teams roll with; does your gear company roll with a particular scouting service.

Let's also factor in whether, or not, you're black and non-threatening--and if you're non-threatening, you DON'T have to have real grades and personality--or whether, or not, you're NON-black and have some level of Barbie doll in you AND you play hard--but might seem to be a little short in the talent department.

To top it all off, who's your drum-beater--that is, who's the head of your fan club, and hyping you the most? Is it your school/club coach? Is it some college coach? Is it an event operator, a scout, a pundit, a gear-company operative? Is it merely a parent on this message board, posting under a funky stage name like we can't figure out who they are?
Is it a co-signing hater of ANOTHER player, so consumed with that hate on the other player, that they're over-hyping YOU instead?

We can't discount the posters who get SO PUMPED UP at having a chance to express an opinion in an open forum, that it's like HOT SEX for them, and they'll just say ANYTHING to get off...

Message boards are based on OPINIONS of the posters, and on the back-and-forth sparked off by these opinions.
Put ANY any listing and ranking on a message board, however, and it's like setting off a nuclear bomb to make ONE DISSIDENT submit to another person's will!

"Yeah, but the fallout from the blast poisoned EVERYONE'S water, you IDIOT!"

The IH would like to thank ALL posters on EVERY message board, for always giving the IH the impetus to THINK, BEFORE HE POSTS.
With the IH's 1,000th post, he would like to give special note to:
- pgcop;
- DALIST;
- arbitraryj;
- quimica2;
- fhire;
- DEGurlzHoops;
- HighLevel;
- smokeyhip4;
- Rodder08;
- da silent 1;
- our moderator lboogie (when are you gonna get a real job?);
- and the HoopGurlz.com team of Mark, Mindy, Clay, Chris, and Glenn (for allowing and insisting that the IH be himself, but REAL...);
- all girls and women's basketball message boards and posters UNIVERSAL, for appointing the IH as Dispenser Of Logic, Defender Of Real Basketball;
- to ESPN, ESPN2, and ESPNU--and to your competitors Fox-Atlantic, Fox-Central, and Fox-Pacific (for giving the IH the opportunity to eyeball college women's basketball 24 hours a day, in-season);
- to The Two Mikes, Flynn and White, for the Ringling Bros. vibes; to adidas and Nike, for the gas; to the AAU, in its Infinite Wisdom to service the all-American family; to Boo Williams, for being like a "father" to the IH; to the NCAA, for its position papers on Sphincter Theories In 20th- and 21st-Century American Culture; to USA Basketball, for ALWAYS KNOWING WHAT'S BEST; to the NBA, for keeping the WNBA relevant;
- to all the cute female college coaches, assistant AND head, for holding the IH's attention, when all of your programs, coaching staffs, and players are just straight trippin'.

And finally, thanks to Boo Williams Elite, The Fairfax Stars, and Team Unique, for keeping the D-M-V soap opera moving...

From the IH--Dispenser Of Logic, Defender Of Real Basketball--to the D-M-V, to be continued, to be certain...

And ALWAYS remember, sports fans, that the D-M-V is LIKE that, and EVERYONE knows it...

I'm sure that, if there could be a list of how many words actually posted, the venerable IH would be No. 1 by a landslide!

Finally I'm on a list! LOL! Glenn, thanks for the giggles. My problem is too much dagnabit time on my hands...80% of the top 10 are affiliated with the site or moderators, and then you have little know it all me & PGC. Geez, imagine if I wouldn't have slowed down, as I am now getting older and trying to learn to not let my habits run me! :rolleyes:

This will probably be the only list that you ever post that nobody will send e-mails calling for your job, head on a platter, and whatever else they can think of. Keep HGz going strong!

I'm a mailmon, the barkeepah, a landlord, a dog-walkah and the campaign manager for Obama! :D
