I loved the articles Clay wrote on Exposure Or Being Exposed and all this meant was going out to EXPOSURE events and not being ready because of certain things kids haven't worked on or can't do no matter what, which a truly good basketball player picks up on and then EXPOSES their opponent. If you don't work on your game, you will be passed by and time and time again I have told parents and players to size up kids who play the same position and are in the same class, age, whatever just to see where they are.

Whether they did it or not goes into another great article Clay wrote about Parents Reality Check and I get this from parents that just don't understand the process. I had a friend whose daughter played on a HS team with one of the top posts in the NATION, kid graduated a couple of years ago and I asked the mom had she received any offers. The mom told me no, but her daughter was going to LSU, Duke or Baylor and I asked her for basketball and her response was that's the plan. Now the kid never received a phone call, handwritten correspondence or even a form letter from any of these schools and to top that off she was not All American, All State or even All District any of her HS years yet the mom just believed this would happen.

In order to be taken seriously if you want to get a scholarship you have to be a BASKETBALL PLAYER http://forums.hoopgurlz.com/showthread.php?t=2564 not just out there playing ball. There are some exceptions to the rule because if you are very athletic, you have a shot, if you are a very smart basketball player, you have a shot and if you are over 6ft, you are going somewhere regardless.

These EXPOSURE events are great for the girls and they should use this to their advantage however so many are just chilling out on these trips it's amazing but what's even more amazing is how these kids are unattended away from the game. I know parents have to work but watching kids roaming busy city streets 11 and 12 oclock at night is disturbing, at least to me but I gather it is like a vacation for some. It shouldn't be viewed that way by the masses because for many it's the best and only way to get out.
