The No. 1 what? The largest audience on HoopGurlz.com. As many of you may know, we started as a regional site, out of Seattle, Wash., and morphed into a national site. Our largest audience, since our inception, of course has been the homeys. But they were eclipsed by the D.C. area this past weekend, continuing to yesterday.

Congrats to you all. Lboogie and the incomparable Intelligent Hoodlum had the vision to ask for this regional forum. And it has turned into a phenomenon. Both Chris and I thank all of your for your support!

We have so much talent here and what makes this area so special, is that we have some of the top public school systems in the country. As well as top notch private schools, so not only do our girls have game they have grades.

Can we get Glen and the Big Timers here to cover some tourneys and put it out there on the website? Instead of seeing our local teams when they play elsewhere? Junior Nationals is the only BIG TIME tourney here that will get coverage.

We come out to Hampton every year for Boo Williams. We'd like to get out more but travel is expensive. We do as much as we can with the resources we have.

Was talking about the DC Metro area. DC, Md, Northern VA specifically. Boo Williams in Hampton is not "local" to us. Talent level is off the chain in this area by way of seeing just a scratch off the surface in teams like, Team Unique, Team Excel, Fairfax Stars. Heck 3 of the 15 girls on the U19 USA team are from here. (Jasmine, Demuria and Monica)

Also we should thank silkyb for suggesting the board in the first place. Sorry he hasn't found his way to the new board yet, he was a big contributor.

Balling, what events do you have in mind? I'm pretty sure I will be in the D.C. area during the dead period in July, by the way. The USA U19 camp is then, plus a Blue Star camp. Maybe someone can organize a Largest HoopGurlz Community barbecue?? Hello, Lboogie ...

Glenn...I am sure we can throw something together. Unfortunately, my new digs will not ready until late summer(FINGERS CROSSED) but in summer 08 I can definitely host a serious pool/bbq/block party for the HoopGurlz crew.

So does that mean you all will be covering the USJN at end of July here? If so, are you gonna stay and cover the Best of Maryland Tourney the next 3 days after USJN. There will be some good out of this area schools competing in the tourney and usually they have at least 75 schools come thru recruiting. Check em out at www.bestofmd.net

This is the greatest area in the world for Girls Basketball, I have been around for a long time, and have seen the development of our girls in this area, we are all over the Nation at D-1 and D-2 Schools and represent our skills every time we step on the court. So all the coaches that have help to develope these girls, my hat is off to you. Keep up the good work. And as far as this web site is concerned it is the responsibilty to all of us to keep this site in rare form. Our comments and expert information on our girls are critical to keeping this the best Hoopgurlz web site in the counrty. And we have always have been on the National level in this area.
