I haven't the faintest idea of the rules for basketball but know Carly was an amazing player, and person. I've known Carly since shortly after she was born. Knowing her, I am not surprised at all that she has done. From the picture I have on my wall of a little blonde kid at an early family get-together to a smart, beautiful, musical, athletic, fun young woman; to the kid that, spur of the moment, began playing piano at a family Christmas Eve celebration; to the one who knitted hats for the women in the family for Christmas a few years ago; to the one that learned some Japanese to make a trip to Japan with her mother and others; to the one that, as I just learned (and now my personal favorite Carly story), burst into song before every basketball game; Carly was an amazing person who would light up every room she was in. The young women on her team have it right - talk and laugh about funny Carly stories before expressing, as we must, our profound sadness. The young women went on with the game, an honor - to play - and win - for Carly. My heart goes out to family and friends and the rest of the people who have been touched by her.
