Great game yesterday at the Rose between Chez's powerful New Heights team and Lauren Best Golden Girls.
What a great game that ended with a foul called with .5 sec left. New Heights won by 2 in a thrilla. What great matchup yesterday afternoon. If you missed it, you missed it. DJ. Brown was not in the house.
You had the backcourt matchups of CC Dixon, the Shabazz sisters DeDe and Desi against Sammy Prahalis, Kristine Best and Krystal Parnell. CeCe is getting better and better. She's a one man press breaker. Super fast. Wow! My hair stood up on my arms when she went past me. Phew!!
There was another girl on the Golden Girls named Becky who's headed to Fordham. I'm telling you she will start immediately for them.
Down low you had Shakura Washington battling her Bergtraum buddy Shakeya Leary. The two Shaqs battled like Shaq of old.
I watched these girls put on an absolute show. Chez menaced the sidelines like a man possessed and Lauren Best had the cute smile on her face.
But, the difference in the game was Doris "The Explorer" Ortega. She can do it all. She drove, she rebounded, pulled up with short jumpers. Oh and what a beautiful spin move she had in the game at the end of the 3rd quarter. Even Apache "Bob" Paschall had to smile and give an applause. Everyone stood up and applaused that move. As Jerry Powell would say "she's a beast"!.
Sammy going to the basket with her one handed scoop shot like Julius "Dr. J" Earving. Felicia "Pocohantas" Joyner raining threes to bring them back in the game. Leary hitting several baskets down the stretch. St. Johns Signee Elon Sidney showed yesterday why she's going to St. Johns. When healthy, the girl can flat out ball. Grandma matching the speed of the New Heights guards turning up the tempo of the game. You had CK star Jael "Spanish Fly" Pena hit some big shots and play defense like she was guarding her Side Kick.
As Anton would say, it would take a while for the old ladies to wake up, but they did.
In addition, Chez completed a great day for his team with a four point win over Munches No Limit team.
Can't wait for the matchup between Apache's Exodus NYC team and New Heights. This is going to be an absolute war. I'm bringing every big media person in basketball for this event. Hoopgurlz reps will be in the house.

** Marist Signee Kristine Best was the first female basketball customer of Basketball Results when Jerry Powell started up his business many moons ago with just 5 basketballs which were flat. lol. She has the quickest cross over pull up jumper that I have ever seen. She passed her tail off last night with 8 assists.
