Julie Taylor Oakland Mills I think really tough kid can play. I believe she graduates this year.
Akeema is more of a shooting or lead guard then your classic point.

I don't think we can have this discussion without talking about Danni Jackson from Forest Park. She is definitely one of the best.

Good point I saw Danni last summer at the Jr. Natl'l she is very fast. For the record I love PG's with speed and agility. In my opinion very few have pacing. I have seen a number of PG's who do not understand the importance of this concept.
Question: Do you prefer big (5'8' and up PG's or smaller 5'5" PG's)?
I think they both have their benifits what do you guy's and gal's think?:cool:

I'm so happy someone mentioned her first so that I didn't have to butcher her name up. I second that...we NEVER hear talk of this heady floor general. She is a smart player with a lot of saavy! IH do you or the RBR have any love for this little one despite her high school situation?
Ok now my pick...Wolfie I gotta go with Carleeda Green from HDW!

No one bit on my question. What's the matter people? Stop strattling the fence and voice your opinion. It should make for a nice discussion.:(

It really doesn't matter as long as the player can get the job done. I mean obviously a guard with height can give you better matchups, and you can do different things with them, but it really doesn't matter. I had Vanessa Lamison from Douglas play with me, and she is 5'5 but could get it done agaisnt anybody no matter the height.

Hoopslover I am with you that you can build your team around a small or big PG. Yes the big guard can creat some match up problems but so can the smaller ones because they are often so quick and can create havoc on the defensive end putting pressure on the opposing PG. By the way I have seen Vanessa play a lot and she can go! To me she is more of a scorer than a PG because she has a scorer mentality and can put up numbers quickly.

Now you know i love Carleeda, she got PG blood, haha, But i went with Ronnika cause Carleeda, Bernisha and Patrice don't get much hype, they champions and done played against all the top players in the area over the last 2 years, but can't get mentioned to save their lives. Now i know they don't have the top games in the area,(well maybe in dc ) but they still have been on the curcuit too long to get ignored by the board. You are the only person who talks about these girls games in depth TM4, its funny too because all three have recruiting letters from some of the big name coaches.ACC and BIG EAST.

Thats because you saw her with Douglass and they needed her to score, when she played with me last year we had Brittney Jackson and Angel Saunders from Laurel as well as Shakema Proctor from Wise on the wings, so she didn'tg have to put up the points, because she had scorers with her. She is able to adjust her game to her surroundings. Bloomfield got a steal with her, because she should be going D1.

A whole lotta point guards, sports fans, in our region who have some nice stuff goin' on. The RBR's top ten PG's in the MD/DC/VA region, not including the 2007 class (in alphabetical order):
1. Tiffany Davis, 5'7", 2009, Hampton/Hampton, Va.;
2. Tariq Hislop, 5'7", 2009, Paint Branch/Burtonsville, Md.;
3. Danielle Jackson, 5'4", 2009, Forest Park/Woodbridge, Va.;
4. Lynnae Lampkins, 5'7", 2008, Gwynn Park/Brandywine, Md.;
5. Ariana Moorer, 5'7", 2008, C.D. Hylton/Woodbridge, Va. (Virginia commit);
6. Abby Oliver, 5'8", 2008, Hidden Valley/Roanoke, Va.;
7. Ronika Ransford, 5'9", 2010, H.D. Woodson/Washington, D.C.;
8. Akeema Richards, 5'8", 2009, Western/Baltimore, Md.;
9. Shontice Simmons, 5'6", 2008, Academy of the Holy Cross/Kensington, Md.;
10. She'la White, 5'3", 2008, Norfolk Collegiate/Norfolk, Va. (North Carolina commit).
This list is an ever-changing one, with additions and subtractions by-the-week, and with weekly changes in the order of the ten. The IH expects a fresh 3-4 on this top-ten list at the end of JULY...

Interestingly, the IH feels that a strong-enough case might be able to be made for the top three PG's--potentially, for college--in our region to be 5'10" Tierra Ruffin-Pratt/2009/T.C. Williams/Alexandria, Va.; 5'11" Shanel Harrison/2008/Good Counsel/Olney, Md.; and 6'1" Brandey Wingate-Holland/2009/Howard/Ellicott City, Md.
Of course, no major-D-1-college coach is going to play any of these three at PG...

Teammom I guess we will never get a real reason why IH doesnt give any love
to Rahneeka Saunder because she giving 100% on both end of the court not like some
of those rated guard that he has on that list. Now folks out there in the basketball world
if you want to see this young lady play come to G-Town this weekend because you can
see for yourselves.

Ms. Saunders has to be one of the best I have seen for a couple of years at her age group, despite her high school situation she is still a winner at the AAU level.

1. The IH has mentioned Ms. Saunders a few times before on this board, and has always expressed a liking for her.
2. The IH thinks that Rahneeka was better as an 8th-grader, relative to the rest of her class, than she is now.
3. For one, she doesn't play as aggressive and assertive now as she did then. Why is that, sports fans?
4. She has obvious talent and clear potential. With NCA and with the Lady Majic, she seems to be just another talented point guard whom you're waiting to see get off AND orchestrate things for her teammates.
5. Between Myisha Goodwin, Ashley Fawcett, and Rahneeka--all on the Lady Majic team--which one is going to step out and ORCHESTRATE things? The IH is waiting...

Truly, Ashleigh Fossett out of Frederick, MD is nothing but the TRUTH! Hated on by many in Frederick County because of her natural talent with the basketball she is one kid to watch now, in the fall and in the class of 2009. You can sleep on her if you want, but the talent is there. She is well rounded and it sounds as if you have no love for her game. Do you really know anything about her, or are you making assumptions and hating on the Magic AAU team??????????:rolleyes:

IH, I've been around AAU b-ball for a while now and I been watching Rahneeka since she
was 11yrs old and I would have to disagree with you because her game is no where near
what it was when she was in the 8th game . This youg lady brings it 110% when ever you
see her now the diffrence with her now from then is the player she has around her before
she had to make thing happen,but know being that she has player around her the Majic
play team ball and there's no I in team and she never shy a way from any challenge so I
would put my money on her against any point guard in the metro area and that on both
ends of the court

I really like Rahneeka's game, I would not have put her in my top 5 point guards only because I think having her at point guard would limit her natural scoring ability, but she is the full package from the 5 games I've seen. Goodwin on that team is more of a natural point to me in a running system that the Majic team has. I think together that they have good chemistry. Rahneeka is definatley one of the areas top players, there also is some group tension on this board that I am unsure the history of.
The #1 way for a kid to get trashed is to mention her name on this board, posters come out of the woodwooks to descredit someone who's name has been mentioned. If it is a L word Majic player then you have one group bashing and if the kid is not an L word Majic player then the L word Majic fans come on the attack.
This becomes frustrating trying to filter through a forum to hear about players but have to decipher what is general info and what is hate ane hype.
I have heard of some kids on this site and I go check them out some are very good some are not that good but I don't feel that it is nessessary for me to come back and have negative pub about her eventually she ends up fading on her own.
