Her mom was my biology teacher 2 years ago, so this really hit closer to home. I attend Kentwood High, and so does my brother.
My little brother came home from his saxophone lesson with Jordon Ruwe on friday saying that the Kentlake band teacher's daughter had died. The only name he was able to provide me with was Stowell, and I got this pang in my heard thinking, maybe she was related to my teacher??? So we did some searching and we found things on Myspace, as well as this website. It mentioned her mother Elena who was in fact my teacher sophomore year. Mrs. Stowell had to be my favorite teacher at Kentwood, and I broke down in tears, because it was a horrible thing to happen to such a nice person.
I didn't know Carly personally but my grievances are with her family and its nice to see all this support for them in this hard time.
