Jackson by 10+ too much firepower

EW by 10+ if they shorten the rotation & utilize their 3 Fr's better if not SC by 3

Shoh by 10+ just like Jackson too much firepower

Kentwood 59, Federal Way 43

Lakes 92, Capital 71 (very good game. Very impressed with both teams. Lakes definitely deserves No. 2 behind AR and Capital is better than the No. 10 the TNT has them at)

Word on the street is that Prairie won by 13 (73-60, I believe). Tied at 48 at the end of three, Corral turned it ON with a ridiculous fourth-quarter performance after the Skyview fans had chanted U-C-L-A during the game.

(Good work, Ashley.)

Looks like I was spot on with Snohomish & Jackson but I failed to take into account the men in stripes of the EW/SC game.

The shortened EW rotation got about 20pts combined from their Fr forwards and with the Fr PG running an efficient press breaker along with getting the ball to her teammates for lots of open looks my prediction looked solid. Several first half phantom traveling calls (drawing a cascade of boo’s and cat calls from the home crowd) cut down EW possessions and chances to score kept things to a 1pt game at the half.

As the 2nd half opened the traveling calls disappeared & EW shot out to a quick double digit lead but the weight of the one sided foul calls broke the back of a potential breakaway game for the Warriors. In a stretch of 6 or 7 straight times down the court EW was called for fouls sending their entire starting front line to the bench with 4 fouls each. From there on out it was nip & tuck with EW converting their field goals and SC going to the free-throw line most every time down court. With the zebras in charge the on thing that kept the game close was SC’s abominable 50% from the charity stripe. Give SC credit to recognize that the calls were going their way and kept going to the hole for fouls on most every possession. The disparity in shots form the line was about 30 shots for SC to 10 for EW.

EW’s best chance to pull even late came with under 30 sec’s to go when one of their Fr drove the baseline and powered up through a hack for 2, but did not get the call on SC’s upperclassmen which was on par for the night, pulling them to within one. EW fouled with 10 sec’s to go and on que SC only hit 1 of 2 giving EW one last go to tie or win, but missed a last sec jumper.

With EW’s PrF & shooting G ‘s scoring ability and as their FR’s start getting some respect from the officials they should start winning some of these close games.

Prediction – EW brings in the 3rd spot in WESCO South 4A for District & SC 2nd for 3A;)

Sorry, Topball, but no one in high schools gets 'respect' from the officials. HS is not the nba or even the ncaa. No one gets any preferential treatment from any high school official.

Now, if you want to argue pet calls of one official versus another, I am with you there. One guy/gal calls 12 travels a game, the next one 7 hand checks and the third might ball 5 illegal screens. It's just your (team's) luck on who they draw on a particular night and if those types of call happen for or against them.

The check is in the mail.
The president doesn’t lie
Kingma gets the same exact call driving the lane as the 12th girl off the bench from a losing team does.

And I've got a great bridge in Brooklyn to sell you.

they call what they expect to see, not what they really see - if they see at all. My fav is when the call is made by the ref behind the action who couldn't possibly see what is happening with hands etc in front of the body blocking his/her view...and the other refs who can see, never dispute (or confirm) the call...nice to have xray vision!
