Alright, sports fans, as the school year winds down to a welcome end; and as the D.C. metro area's nation-leading number of school summer leagues jump off to an eager start this weekend at The B-Mac; the IH wants you all to comtemplate next year's Washington Post All-Met Girls Basketball Team.
Of the 25 girls spread out over the First- through the Fourth-Teams from the 2006-2007 season, these are the nine who return for the 2007-2008 season (in alphabetical order, of course):
1. Ataira Franklin, 5'10", 2010, Riverdale Baptist/Upper Marlboro, Md.;
2. Shanel Harrison, 5'11", 2008, Good Counsel/Olney, Md.;
3. Tariq Hislop, 5'7", 2009, Paint Branch/Burtonsville, Md.;
4. Lynetta Kizer, 6'3", 2008, Potomac/Woodbridge, Va.;
5. Miriam McKenzie, 5'9", 2008, Oakland Mills/Columbia, Md.;
6. Mia Nickson, 6'1", 2008, Notre Dame Academy/Middleburg, Va.;
7. Tierra Ruffin-Pratt, 5'10", 2009, T.C. Williams/Alexandria, Va.;
8. Chalysa Shegog, 6'4, 2008, Brooke Point/Stafford, Va. (North Carolina commit);
9. Brooke Wilson, 6'1", 2008, Eleanor Roosevelt/Greenbelt, Md.
