Auburn Riverside just returned from the Tournament of Champions and lost by only 10 points to the #1 ranked team in the nation (Nortre Dame) but you have them beating Auburn by only 10 points. If is this true why wasn't Auburn at the TOC? They must be a real secret here in the northwest. Please enlighten me.

The TOC is an invite only tournament that rarely gets more than two or three Northwest teams (i.e. Oregon, Washington, Idaho) among *all* of its brackets.
Not all teams are on the TOC radar. At the same time, not all teams are willing to raise to money to take teams to tournaments such as the TOC (or even the Surf 'n' Slam...Auburn didn't go to a single holiday tournament this year).
And it's only his (her?) prediction. Everyone has their own. Personally, I think Auburn Riverside by about 20 to 25, and I think, if I'm wrong, I'll have given Auburn the benefit, not AR.
You also have to take into consideration that the Auburn team has had this game circled on its calendar since March. Friday *is* their TOC. Riverside? They don't scout league opponents anymore...they're not, you could say, concerned.

Auburn played AR closer than anyone last season, losing by 14 in the last game of the season. Trojans have Nneka who can dribble herself thru the Ravens press, plus the addition of McCann-Soushek and if Strickland and Young are hitting from the outside this good be a decent game.

Good points made by the two previous posts.
Also, rivalry games can be a dogfight where no one can say what to expect because of the extra motivation, anticipation and passion that goes into a game like that and games can be closer than what would be expected if someone were to just look at it on paper.
Plus, this may be the first time in the relatively brief history of this rivalry (AR has only been playing since '95) where both teams are considered to be pretty good and playing at full strength so who knows which way it will go?
No disrespect to Sumner as we don't want to look past anyone (AR is playing them tonight) and no disrespect to other teams playing on Friday night but this ARvAuburn game will definately be worth the trip if you can make it to the game.

I believe the game is at 5:45 p.m., right? And the boys' game follows it?

I believe that might have been the original info that was put out but we did just confirm last night that it is actually set up the other way around with the boys' teams having the early game and the girls playing at 7:30.

grlsbbfan get over yourself. Yes AR is a great team but do you are always putting down everyone else all the time since you started w/your club team. And its not like you came up through AR's feeder program you just move into the district this past summer, right?
Everyone works hard at their own priorities that are all on different levels so understanding that and we can all be respectful of everyone’s achievements’.:)

You owe the users of the Washington HS forum an apology or face a ban. I continue to be baffled by the necessity of pumping up one's own team/player by denigrating another's.
The Golden Rule of this website is not to post negative comments of the players, who, I'll remind all for the upmteenth time, are teenaged girls.

No disrespect to Sumner either, but that game tonight should be a walk in the park. I've seen Sumner play also.
Your right though, it will be a dandy Friday night. I'd DEFF make that game if I didn't have a game of my own. The only other game I can see on the docket for Friday would be Redmond/Lake Washington.
Glenn is of course right, these are teenage girls your rippin on

I apologize for not knowing which posts are not suppose to be disagreed with. Please accept my voluntary resignation from the forums. You need to go in and erase my post regarding Kennedy's running up the score under "classless". I made the mistake of agreeing with that post.

It's sad when adults act so childish. I'll gladly ban you from the site, and let Adam know how poorly you are representing AR.

on our way to somewhat civilized and productive discussions about girls' bball?
recruited? D-I promises? The unfounded accusations never seem to stop.
It is amazing to me how many people are out there that are okay with taking a shot at the AR coach or the program,or other programs, with no specifics or proof to back it up.
That is not what this board is here for and I am surprised that some haven't learned from others' mistakes as Glenn tries to keep these threads free of these blatantly inappropriate comments.

The Redmond Mustangs win their eight consecutive game in beating their arch rivals the Eastlake Wolves 54-53 in a home game thriller.
Neither team shot the ball well as physical defense was played by each side all night long. In the first half both teams struggled for points with no team having much of an advantage. Redmond led by five only to see Eastlake finish with a flourish to make it 21-21 at the half. Both teams worked hard for baskets in the 3rd period with Redmond leading 31-29 going into the 4th quarter.
The fourth quarter saw Redmond roaring off and building an 11 point lead capped by sophomore guard Chandler Jones' three pointer with about four minutes to go. Eastlake went to a full court press and stole the ball several times down the stretch, using a three pointer by junior guard Hannah Ostic and two baskets by junior forward Ellie Martinez to pull within 46-44 with about a minute to go. Four clutch free throws by junior guard Alicia Valentine kept the Mustangs ahead and Martinez’s last second lay-up made the final a one point affair.
Valentine led the Mustangs with a career high 16 points assisted by senior guard Mary Petrie’s 12 with Jones adding 9 points in a balanced Mustang attack.
Martinez led all scorers with 15 with senior guard Melissa Pixler's 9 and sophomore forward Alyssa Charlston chipping in with 8 for Eastlake.
Redmond goes to 4-2 in the KingCo 4A Conference Mountain division and 10-2 overall. Eastlake falls to 4-2 in the KingCo 4A Conference Lake division and 9-3 overall.

why wouldn't he? As a journalist he has investigated the rumors about riverside, formed a relationship (Riverside players submit to the site) and wants to let the coach know he has a rouge parent giving his program a bad name. I see no problem with that!

Auburn Riverside 94, Auburn 46
Katie Grad lit it up for 33 points, while Auburn never really had a shot against the press and AR's defense.
There was some trash talking going on during the game, seemingly more on Auburn's part than AR's. Seemed like half of Auburn's points came from free throws, too.
Riverside was rolling on defense, but their offense wasn't as strong as I've seen. Had it been, they could have easily hit 100.

No accusation, just a fact that AR has player that was last years Tac Middle
School MVP so obviously they moved since Tac's middle school's 06-07 BB season.

Maybe you didn't get a chance to see that particular post before it was removed. Do you really think that was posted as an innocent "fact"? It is just one more backhanded way for someone to throw something out there to suggest that something is not right at AR without having to know much of anything about the situation or the circumstances. Pretty obvious from Glenn's reaction and comment that it is not the right way to go about things on this website.
