Those of you in the Puget Sound Area should try to get to Bank of America Arena this weekend to see Washington play host to Ohio State. Even if you are not a Husky fan you have the chance to see a very special player in the Buckeyes' Jantel Lavendar. The 6-4 center was a member of the gold medal USA U19 team that went to Slovakia this summer.
It isn't often you get to see an Olympian and for the young players to see a player of this caliber up close will show you what that next level really is. The game is this Sunday at 4pm.
Those that didn't got to the T-Mobile Invitational to see Maya Moore really missed out on a chance to see a truly special player up close and shouldn't let this opportunity pass by. I think the school does considerable discounts for teams, high school or AAU.
Ohio State is ranked in the Top 20. Lavendar was Big-10 co-Player of the Week last week. In that week she averaged 20 points and 14.5 rebounds. This is the second time in the past three weeks she earned this honor.
I hate to sound like a PR person but for the kids and coaches in the area the chance to see a player like Lavendar would be a nice Holiday treat. Come on out.
