Did anyone here see the Stanford/Utah game this afternoon? Stanford won 81-77 in 2OT
Here's how it went.
Stanford 57 Utah 61, 18 seconds, Wiggins for three?? Nope, Utah rebounds the ball with 16 seconds left, then Melanie Murphy steals it and makes a layup, now its 61-59 with 10 seconds left. Then Stanford fouls Utah and the girl makes 1 out of 2 at the line. 62-59 with 10 seconds left. Candice Wiggins passes up to Melanie Murphy who launches a 3 with 1 second left and it goes in !!!! Candice Wiggins fouled out on the third play in OT. Then in OT Kayla Pedersen missed 2 free-throws with 11 seconds left which would have put them up 73-69, instead its 71-69, and then at the buzzer Mitchell on Utah made a layup. Now we are going to 2OT. In 2OT Stanford prevails 81-77. Jayne Appel finished with 30 points, 19 rebounds, and 6 blocked shots. Candice Wiggins had 17 points, but only shot 4-17, 7 rbeounds, 5 assist and fouled out. K. Pedersen had 9 points and 15 rebounds. Good Win Stanford, great plays Melanie Murphy
