Our team had the opportunity to play a great game against Kentwood today. We have never met on the court before so we were looking forward to the challenge. Your girls were very strong, experienced players and were exciting to watch.

My question is ..why did you have ruin the game for the rest of us? You laughed at our players mistakes, cheered when they were hurt or fouled, screamed at the refs through out the game and were just plain mean...what for? Is this what your program is about? It was not just one or two parents, which can happen, but a larger group.

Shame on you - good sportsmanship starts in the stands.

We ran into some of the same kinda of stuff from their fall coach, up 50 with 29seconds left in the game and call timeout to let the her players know that she will disapointed in them if they allow us to score another point.....up 50 29 secs left. Way to much arrogance for me.

I was at that game too. I wanted to watch the show between Kentwood and Eastlake, who was supposed to have a pretty good team this year. What I saw is completely different then what you are talking about. In fact, it sounds like a lot of sour grapes. I don't know what game you were watching, but from where I sat, the Eastlake parents were pretty loud and obnoxious. I was pretty close to the Kentwood parents too and didn't hear anything that you are accusing them of. They were yelling and cheering just like all the other parents in the stands. I didn't hear any yelling at or making fun of the Eastlake girls. There wasn't any cheering when a player made a mistake. You guys need to get over yourself, clean up your own program, and go lick your wounds. Losing sucks, especially to a powerhouse like Kentwood but you don't need to try to discredit another program just because you lost.

For the post'ee' who talked about sour grapes, this post from TGUARD2 states it all about what is appropriate or in this case not so much. Of course, there is always multiple sides to a story, but I agree that is a little over the top for obviously an overmatched team. And it sounds like this has affected more than just 1 team. If so, why? It's fall league, with limited rosters of teams, coaching, etc.,

Leave it at that and not press the need to make it 60, 70 or larger for that matter.

Yes, Kentwood has been successful and will be continue to be successful. However, do it in a 'classy' fashion instead of one that other people, players and coaches resent your success instead of respect it.
