Angie Bjorkland is starting at Tennessee. She seems to be making an immediate impact there. Sounds like Vandersloot is a key contributor as well. What's the word on others from the '07 class? Rogers? Wilbur? Jackson?

In exhibition play against Love & Basketball Christina Nzekwe was 1-6 from the floor in 21 minutes with 5 pts, 5 rebounds, two steals and two turnovers. Regina was 2-6 from the floor in 19 minutes scoring five points with 9 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 block, 1 steal and 1 turnover. Both started in the opening exhibition game.

Georgia Tech lost by one in exhibition to Premier Players and Alex Montgomery started. In 23 minutes she was 1-8 from the floor scoring three points, grabbing 8 rebounds with an assist, a steal and 5 turnovers.

Vandersloot didn't start for GU in exhibition but everyone played double digit minutes and she may push for a starting spot by the time conference play starts. In 18 minutes she was 5-7 from the floor. She scored 12 points with 4 assists and four turnovers. Heather Bowman scored 15 points in 16 minutes and Vivian Freison scored 11 and grabbed 9 boards in 18 minutes.

Don't have stats in front of me, but Amanda Best has shown very good promise for UNM Lobos. Nikki Nelson suffered an ACL a few days before practice was to begin and is RS. Flan has worked Amanda in as a back-up PG because of Nikki's injury. Also seeing some time at the two. At the first practice(called the Howl here) Amanda was impressing everyone with her 3-point shooting. Shows a good feel for the game.
