She stood out as maybe the best junior-to-be at OU's elite player camp over the summer. I think she's attended camp at OU at least the last two years, and have felt all along that OU was a frontrunner for her commitment. When it was reported that she was making an unofficial visit over the weekend, I had a good feeling that OU might get an early commit.

From what I understand McFarland has solid fundamentals in the post, but is obviously a bit undersized for the position at 6'2. Like most HS players she'll need to get stronger, but I believe she's more likely to play at the forward position at OU, in spite of her low post abilities. I'm pretty certain that she's versatile enough to do so, because having seen sister Jackie play on numerous occasions, I imagine that she's a similar type of player.

It's hardly surprising that she has good post skills, older sister Jessica played at K-State, and sister Jackie is a senior and a two-time All-Conference player at Colorado. With older sisters like that, she's had lots of opportunities to work with talented and experienced D-I players at home.

It's a very good way to start out what looks to be a promising class for 2009.

She's a physical player. Runs the floor well. Can score in the paint and well as mid range. I've seen her hit the 3 as well. Good defender.
