Glenn,
I saw a 6'7" girl from MI (Williams) at the USJN on Saturday night, played for the Monarchs. Did you get to see her play?

The big girl for the Michigan Monarchs is Madison Williams. I watched her play at Adidas in Atlanta. I love her game and upside. I think she's only 15-years old to boot.
I watched her block at least 9-shots in one game. She will definitely be a force at the collegiate level. Will need to strengthen up though. Had a tough time with wide bodies underneath the board. Nice touch around the basket and very, very mobile. Very active in attacking defensively.

I did see her, and, like HK, I saw her in Atlanta as well. She's on my list to follow.

Glenn-
Have you seen Centrese McGee from the Chicago Hoops Express. She is a 2010 kid who many consider to be one of the top 3 in the state of Illinois in the sophomore class. Michala Johnson and Trish Liston are the top 2 kids but McGee is a talent. Your thoughts?

La'terria Taylor is another talent I like out of Chicago out of Von Stuebon HS.

Not everyone considers Liston #2. McGee is better because she can do more, is significantly more athletic and can defend. Liston just happened to be an integral part on last years state championship team playing with two McDonald's All-American's.
There are a few who feel that McGee is as impactual as Johnson.
My top 4 in the class of 10 would be --
Johnson, McGee, Liston and Taylor. Taylor is also considered to have a bigger college upside than Liston. Taylor picked up her first scholarship offer from Purdue before starting high school and has picked up recent offers from Eastern Michigan and Wisconsin.
Taylor goes to Von Steuben.

Taylor is a very nice talent. Lashonda Clay from Chicago Hoops Express is another 6-3 big kid who has some upside. I like the 6-1 kid from Bogan, Lynette Holmes.
McGee and Liston are the two best guards. McGee is very athletic. Liston has great size for a guard at 6-1.
Michala Johnson is the best kid in that class.

Shonte' Clay has improved significantly in the last 16 months and closed the gap tremendously on Johnson because of her defensive presence and ability to rebound in traffic.

We will have to agree to disagree on this one. However, I do think that Clay is a nice player.

Understood on the Johnson/Clay comparison but let it be noted that I feel that McGee is a better player now and has a much more significant upside than Liston.

I like Johnson the most she has a lot of upside at 6'3 kid, than Taylor she is another talent at 5'10, I think it goes Johnson,Taylor,McGee than Liston.

I like McGee. She is good. She doesn't get the pub like Liston because she didn't play for a Nationally ranked HS team like Liston. Liston also played with Dev Peters and Alison Jackson, nationally ranked kids. In time, McGee might be a kid that colleges with like at that guard spot more than Liston because she is more athletic.

Can we stray from saying one kid is better than another? I happen to like both Liston and McGee a lot. Liston doesn't share the overall athleticism that McGee has, but she is as good a shooter as is out there. She has good size and balance and a quick enough release to get that shot off at the next level and she's only a 2010. They are just different players.

These are opinions and to say one is better is nothing more than an opinion. Nobody is putting any of these kids down. I don't think it anything wrong with opinioning one to be better than the other.

McGee picked up her first two college scholarship offers this past August and quite a few colleges have been stopping by her high school. Colleges have already noticed her. She had a nice year on the exposure circuit including her participation in the adidas "Top Ten" underclassman camp.

I'm sorry but I don't like it and there are rules against doing such on this message board. It's a slippery slope that I just don't want to even approach. We have promoted this as a haven for girl's basketball players. I don't want them to come here and find that (outside of the rankings, which I consider a necessary evil) they are not as good as someone else.
