Congratulations to YEA 8th grade for winning The Best In The West this weekend for three years in a row, '05, '06, '07! Proudly wearing their "Back to Back" t-shirts all weekend in Yakima the team knew a third year win would be a major challenge as everyone would be out to stop them. Beating Blaze in the semi-final and then Oregon Reign for the championship made for some outstanding basketball! YEA & OR battled through multiple player foul trouble. With the game tied at 51 with 23 seconds to go, YEA delivered two crucial steals, the first resulting in a lay-up and foul and then a final steal with three seconds left on the clock to end the game. Pressure basketball and players rising to the occasion on both teams. Another great Best in the West. Congratulations to Coach Dixon and all the YEA ladies! Co-MVP's were Jessica Maddison(#11) who hit four three-pointers in the last quarter and Deborah Anderson (#23) for pressure defense and timely steals.
